CITY manager Keith Alexander claims that automatic promotion is "in our own hands" with eleven games remaining of the season. Lincoln are currently in sixth position in Coca-Cola League Two, and five points off the third automatic promotion spot. However, the Imps have all five of the sides currently above them, Yeovil, Scunthorpe, Macclesfield, Swansea, and Southend, still to play.
Keith says: "I don't want to be hanging about in the play-offs - I want promotion to League One. It's no coincidence we have not made good starts in the last two seasons after being in the play-offs because our players had less rest in the summer than everyone else. I don't want to go through that again and neither do the players. Contracts keep getting mentioned, but if we are in the same division next season, some players won't be offered one. Fortunately, we have many of the sides above and around us still to play, so it's in our own hands. We need to put a run together now and see where it gets us."
